Beistegui series september 2015 Shot 35mm film On 3 September 1951 Carlos de Beistegui held a masquerade-ball, which he called Le Bal Oriental, at the Palazzo Labia in Venice. It has been dubbed one of the most spectacular events in ballroom history. The photo series is based on this famous ball. In my attempt to recreate the aesthetic of the light, using some of the original costumes and historical archives to recreate the scene.
